I certainly know what your talking about. There is a lack of places to go without spending a ton of money on things. People want experiences too! Retail is very important as it aliviates the tax burden and allows for more jobs. Our goal in redeveloping retail is to see what types of places community members would support. Right now their is a lot of retail that are carbon copy stores and there is a lack of support for them. To boost existing business and to create a sense of vibrancy we need to create a unique places that will drive consumers to Huntington Station.
A museum row sounds like a really interesting concept. We do have a ton of history in our town. This would be something that you could post on the Public Destinations Campaign. I do not think a museum has even been suggested, however I do know the Huntington Historical Society has been battling to preserve our town’s history for a long time. Perhaps others would like to join in this cause as well. I would love to see you post that! Thank you for your input and I hope that you can see that there needs to be all of these things in order to revitalize our community!

Do we REALLY need more restaurants and stores? How many more shops and eateries can I patronize? Where are the cultural/educational choices? A museum row would be much more interesting AND UNIQUE. Huntington Village and the Mall are all over restaurants and shops, with space to spare.

I would hope that somewhere a pedestrian friendly setting with the shops all around would be possible.

a coffe shop is a good idea because it can bring in people all day long. It is a great place to have a business meeting or hook up with friends.
